Refugees in Indonesia must stay for a long time before getting resettled to a third country. In general, refugees living independently in Indonesia are experiencing a lot of problems, especially financial support for basic accommodation, food, and health care, which has resulted in physical and psychological health conditions, even suicide attempts among the refugee communities. They need certain activities to use their time in a productive way to stay motivated and be able to survive this difficult phase of their lives.

SMART believes that most refugees have the potential to be financially independent while they are provided the proper opportunity. This effort hopes to lead to increased social and economic resiliency of refugees while living in Indonesia. SMART encourages, trains, and provides opportunities for skilled refugees to be able to make livelihood online.
While most of the refugees without online work skills can make a variety of handicrafts and other products and sell them in online markets.
Refugees who are living independently without the support of any organization have terrible lives with no rights to work and no access to formal education, while desperate to wait several years for resettlement, make most of them mentally ill, disparate, even relatives stop supporting them financially.

SMART is a refugee led Non-Profit Organization. With your donation, we will be able to complete our basic needs such as laptops, monthly Wi-Fi bills, and other software and hardware equipment needed to run workshops and our organization. We are building projects which will help refugees learn skills needed to earn livelihood online and sell their products online to solve their financial issues.
